It’s a New Year, how will you manifest new energy? The cosmos has aligned, thus, forming the roots for our souls to grow. Cosmically, we just experienced the Winter Solstice, a period of time when the sun stands still, and night lingers longer. In Astrology, the Solstice marks the beginning of the sign of Capricorn, the cardinal earth energy that grounds and propels our beings into form. Every New Year, we set goals and intentions for ourselves, Capricorn season guides and sets in motion the foundation for long-term goals, as it is an ambitious sign that strives to lead you towards your best self. The Winter Solstice on December 21^st commences the energy for the New Year by asking us to search within the darkness so that by the 1^st we may solidify a plan for how to better ourselves for the upcoming year. All these energies, the Solstice, Capricorn season, and the New Year, encapsulate the vibes that may surround us for the year ahead.

Capricorn is the sign of the sea-goat. Symbolizing the relationship between earth and water, this sign teaches us to climb against the current. The sign of Capricorn is ruled by the planet Saturn, the father of the zodiac representing discipline, structure, and time. This sign tasks us with looking through the deepest waters of our soul to test our truest selves. As we begin the New Year, the sea-goat energy will unveil karmic lessons learned in the past that have shaped the contents of our beings. The questions of who you are, and what your purpose is will be sought and conquered with this powerful energy.  

The cardinal energy of the Capricorn soul will invite us to begin anew, to invest and to manifest our energies into the best of our true soul selves. The Cardinal energy of the sea-goat points north. Each cardinal direction is a point of energy manifestation. The cardinal directions (North, South, East, and West), seasons (Winter, Summer, Spring, and Fall), and signs (Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, and Libra) all represent the beginning of a new cycle. Cardinal signs naturally lead and have a lust for pushing life in favor of new experiences. Cardinal energy propels things into motion; they are the instigators, the trendsetters, the beginning of the end. Each direction, season, or sign is the starter of a trio, of three energies that manifest together to be; they are the beginning of a journey, they are the rebirth of light from darkness, they are the elemental forces that ground and push us onto our paths of light. The Capricorn energy of the Winter Solstice and the New Year, is at the northern most point of the Zodiac, pushing us to climb toward the highest peak of personal achievement. The test of Winter, the Karmic cycles, the deadly chills, the harrowing darkness, like a black Obsidian stone, will teach us from within, asking us to look inside so we may shine longer and brighter like the energy of the sun.

Open your darkest soul self to the divine and remember the tests of darkness will always make you shine. Manifest cardinal energy and accept the forces that change you. Do not surrender to the darkness but attract it, search within it, and feed your mind with the answers that you find oh, so deep within the layers of your existence.
